Our Cows

Our cattle are raised on thousands of acres of sprawling grasslands, without the use of hormones, antibiotics or feedlots. Because they eat grass and hay (no grain), their meat is high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids and low in potentially harmful Omega-6’s (which are elevated in corn-fed beef).

The best of our steers are kept until they are at the perfect point of tenderness and tastiness—in most cases, that’s approximately 2 years old. This is one of the biggest differences between beef from YGB and even other grass-fed beef—other places still harvest their steers at a younger age, driven by profits, whereas we put quality first. To that end, we dry age our beef to further enhance the flavor and tenderness of the meat.

Treating our cattle in a stress-free, humane manner also contributes to the delicious taste of our beef.
